A 17th century haven
A 17th century haven

The Unicorn is a 17th century Grade ll listed village freehouse, full of heritage, history, and lots of character. Boasting a red brick façade, tiled roof, and flanking brick chimneys, our beautiful pub is just as pleasing on the eye outside, as it is inside.

In World War 2, the pub and Cublington village were popular destinations for personnel serving at nearby RAF Wing and the military hospital, built on the eastern edge of Cublington.

Whilst The Unicorn has undergone several renovations and extensions over the years, much of the building is original and hosts some fantastic historical architecture.

If you are looking for other reasons to visit Cublington village, not only is it incredibly beautiful, but it also has a fantastic heritage on being “The Village that Moved”

Together with the beautiful St Nicholas Church opposite, the surroundings of The Unicorn tell a fantastic locational story – come and see for yourself!

Along with The White Bear and The White Hart, did you know that the pub name The Unicorn is represented from the livery badge of King Richard II of England? During his reign it became so popular as an inn sign that many later inns and taverns also adopted its name. We are particularly fond of it, and its heritage.
